We rescue more than 1,000 of the 100,000 cats, dogs, horses, cows, deer and other animals that are abused and abandoned every year in South Korea.
The Siheung rescue on December 24th began when we were informed of a dog (named Yumi) that was running wild with burns all over her body and trauma to her head. We investigated the dog slaughterhouse nearby that she was suspected of having escaped from.
Cory was rescued from the Cheonan Dog Slaughterhouse by CARE staff and volunteers. We would like to thank all those who helped her to get on the plane to Las Vegas to meet her new family.
Since bringing to light the atrocities of the Cheonan Dog Slaughterhouse in July this year, many people from not only Korea but abroad—most notably the U.S. and Japan—have reached out to help the surviving dogs.
Although the family that Baekgu was waiting for never turned up, in the end, she found the best mom in the world to look after her and her new-born.
On November 2nd, we rescued a mother dog trembling with fear as she dug a hole in the ground to hide and protect her pups. At the time, a video of this dog, trying desperately to hide her pups though she herself was tied to a post, went viral and many people asked for our help.
