News reached us that a dog with a severely wounded neck had apparently been abandoned by someone who owned a silver vehicle, as it was chasing silver cars along remote country roads.
After luring the dog into a trap with food, we found that what we had thought was a collar was actually a tight metal snare digging into his neck strangling him.
We removed the snare that was close to cutting into his respiratory tract, and thankfully, the surgery at the vet to stitch wounded area went well. It looked as if the dog had spent a long time outdoors. We found around 200 mites on him and he was also suffering from heartworms too.
After recovering at the vet, Toby, as he had been named, was admitted to our center.
At the time that he was admitted, he was very timid and would stay in the corner all by himself, but his personality has improved so much since then. He likes to play with toys, and with the other dogs, and is inquisitive about everything. If you’re lucky, you might even get a glimpse of his precious smile.
However, even with all of Toby’s progress, he still gets afraid with sudden movements or loud noises.
Toby needs a family that can help him to grow out of his fears. Can you be that family?
Depending on the breed, the size, and its environment the lifespan of a dog may vary from 12 to 16 years. Toby is still growing, so we ask you to consider all these aspects if you wish to adopt him.
