Joa was abandoned outside of CARE’s office on Christmas day of 2016. She was then only a baby and she was shivering badly due to the cold. We can’t imagine how terrified she must have felt.
Joa was a small purebred dog, and was adopted quickly.
But in November of 2019, the adopter brought Joa back to CARE because she had personal issues to deal with. We were dismayed, but felt that it was better for them to be back with us, as we could find another family for her.
After 3 months staying with a foster family, a relative of the family decided to adopt her and give her a new forever home.
In order to have the adoption agreement signed, our staff visited the adopter’s house. Joa was sleeping on a soft cushion in a warm room, with her fur clean and freshly cut.
We didn’t get to see Joa’s bright smile since she was fast asleep, but we knew she was happy to have found a new forever family.
We would like to sincerely thank Joa’s foster family and her adopter.
