We are shutting down the ability to donate, and set up Peer-to-Peer fundraising campaigns on our behalf, directly on the website.
Additionally, participation in Peer-to-Peer fundraising has been less than expected, which has rendered it uneconomic to continue to administer.
Donation and Donor Management
We will now use an external application called Snowball Fundraising (opens in a new tab/window) to receive donations via credit card and to manage our donor database. A link is also provided on our Donation page.
Existing monthly donations will not be affected, and you should continue to receive your donation receipts as normal; the on-site system will remain active, but unavailable for new donations.
For those who wish to raise funds for us with their own Peer-to-Peer fundraising campaigns, we encourage you to head on over to GoFundMe—on which we are a registered charity—to set up and administer your campaign.
This has not been an easy decision to make as we changed our donation management platform only two years ago, but we must always endeavour to use the money gifted to us by our supporters in the most efficient way possible. Using external providers whose applications specialize in their respective functions, thereby freeing up staff to work on core mission objectives, meets this criterion.
