We received an email from a person living in Seongju county, North Gyeongsang province telling us that one of his neighbors was struggling to take care of more than 100 abandoned animals. He had given up his job to take care of them and was struggling both financially and from the fact that he was doing it alone. The neighbor decided to contact us to see if we could help.
When the rescue team visited the site, it was obvious that the owner was trying hard to provide safe homes and a good environment for the animals under his care. He was trying his best to feed the animals well, even if it meant that he did not eat. Instead of taking the dogs away, the rescue team decided to help.
While we don’t have an overabundance of supplies at our centers, we decided to donate what we could to help his charges survive the upcoming winter. We donated 45 bags of dog food, 4 boxes of snacks, and pet sanitary pads. These supplies will not be enough for the animals in the long term, but hopefully, it will take some of the pressure off and allow the owner time to come up with a more permanent solution.
