Man who Drove with Dog Tied to Car Fined 3,000,000 KRW ($3000)
The man who was caught dragging an already injured dog across the road with his car was given a fine of 3,000,000 won. On February 5th, 2016, we were notified of the horrific event involving a dog being tied to the back of a car and driven around.
Although a fine of 3,000,000 won is extremely unusual for an animal abuse case in Korea, animal rights groups are evidently unsatisfied with the result. We are hoping that this verdict will act as a warning for any other people involved with the harmful transport of animals, and will continue to fight for a reformed and more just punishment.
In addition, we hope that the similar case of a dog being dragged across the road by a motorcycle on April 12th will receive an even more rightful punishment on behalf of the suffering dogs.
